Coffee has been a staple of my story - from the smell of the cinnamon-infused Turkish coffee my mother brewed every weekend to the dark and dirty stuff that I worked with to both fund and fuel my college years. For most of my adult years, I fancied myself a coffee-enthusiast taking every opportunity to try a new coffee shop or dig through the many layers of coffee information.
I am lucky to have had the opportunity to pursue a deep-dive into the field as a Barista at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. I learned from some of the best baristas and trainers about how to make some of the best coffee widely available in America. From going to visit farmers and exporters in Costa Rica to perfecting my dial-in and tamp, I have developed my palette, asked all of my questions, and can now confidently defend my preference for Latin American coffees over East African ones.
